OVERVIEW

Adam Kuzik is a civil and commercial litigation lawyer whose practice includes construction, real estate, contractual, corporate, employment, estate, debt recovery, and landlord and tenant disputes. He has appeared before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and Alberta Court of Justice and has experience in arbitration, settlement negotiations, and other forms of dispute resolution.

Before entering practice, he spent more than 20 years as an entrepreneur, educator, business owner, and manager, including work in residential and commercial real estate. In his 40s, Adam returned to university and moved to Belfast during the COVID-19 pandemic to complete his LL.B. at Queen’s University Belfast, later earning an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Adam articled under a respected Alberta litigator, where he gained substantial frontline experience through regular court appearances, direct client work, drafting, and management of active litigation files. His earlier business experience gives him a practical appreciation of what disputes mean to the people and businesses involved, beyond the legal issues alone.

Teaching has also remained a constant throughout Adam’s career. He began as a classroom teacher in Calgary and later developed and delivered professional, corporate, and regulatory training, including work with the Court of Appeal of Alberta. That background shapes his approach with clients: explain the problem clearly, identify the available options, and ensure the client understands the risks, costs, and likely consequences before deciding how to proceed.

Outside the office, Adam is a lifelong musician with a background in classical music and jazz. He also enjoys cycling Alberta’s gravel roads and other pursuits.

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. Namely: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation and the Métis People of Alberta. This includes the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
