Following the completion of her undergraduate degree in primatology, the summer of 2015 provided Pooja with an opportunity to study Howler Monkeys in Belize. A team of government workers, lawyers and scientists were monitoring the development of conservation-friendly ecotourism at that time. This work inspired her to take a position with Ecojustice in a subsequent summer. While these experiences piqued Pooja’s interest in environmental law, her year three business courses captured her attention and led her to Goodfellow Schuettlaw to further her knowledge of corporate and construction law.

As a law student Pooja was a semi-finalist in the Canadian Client Consultation Competition and a finalist in the Hicks Morley Moot in 2019. Pooja is a top-rope rock climber and plays left wing for her Master’s Field Hockey team in the Calgary Women’s League.

She also enjoys hiking and travelling. Having visited more than fifteen countries so far, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong are next on her list.
